強調構文 ２

強調構文は以下の形をとり、「なのは」を使って訳します。そしてXが強調される語(句)になります。
It is X that Y「YなのはXだ」
さて、この強調されるXに入る語句ですが、以下の4つ（あるいは7つ）のものが比較的多いようです（絶対ではないのですが）。
1) It is not ～ that (S)V
2) It is only ～ that (S)V
3) It is the 名詞＋後置修飾 that (S)V{
4) It is this 名詞 that (S)V
1) It was not for nothing that he studied all night.
「彼が徹夜したのは無駄ではなかった」
2) It is only through study that one really begins to know oneself.
「自分自身を本当に知り始めるのは、勉強を通してのみである」
3) It was the glamour of the city that attracted him.
「彼を引き付けたのはその町の魅力だった」
4) It is this aspect of the work that really interests me.
「私に興味を持たせるのはその仕事のこの側面なのです」
これはあくまでよくでるパターンに過ぎませんが、頭の片隅に置いておくと、強調構文とそうでないものとを区別しやすくなります。
さらに、1)の発展形として、以下のようなものもあるでごんす。
5) It is not A but B that (S)V
「…なのはAではなくてBだ」
6) It is not so much A as B that (S)V
「…なのはAというよりむしろBだ」
7) It is not only A but also B that (S)V
「…なのはAだけでなくBもまた～だ」
5) It was not on May 3 but on May 5 that the meeting took place.
「ミーティングが行われたのは5月3日ではなくて5月5日だ」
6) It is not so much curry and rice as rice and curry that I'd like to call it.
「私がそれを呼びたいのはカレーライスというよりむしろライスカレーだ」
7) It is not only this book but also that one that I read.
「私が読んだのはこの本だけでなくあの本もだ」
さらに、5)～7)については倒置形もあるんでごんざれす。
5) It is not A but B that (S)V
＝It is not A that (S)V but B
6) It is not so much A as B that (S)V
＝It is not so much A that (S)V as B
7) It is not only A but also B that (S)V
＝It is not only A that (S)V but also B
5) It was not on May 3 but on May 5 that the meeting took place.
＝It was not on May 3 that the meeting took place, but on May 5.
6) It is not so much curry and rice as rice and curry that I'd like to call it.
＝It is not so much curry and rice that I'd like to call it, but rice and curry.
7) It is not only this book but also that one that I read.
